Plans to turn Hove Library into a cinema are revealed

The row over Hove library continues – with council chiefs revealing they have been in contact with an art house cinema to take over the Church Road site.

The century old building has been deemed too expensive to run by Brighton and Hove City Council’s Labour administration.

Plans to relocate the service to Hove Museum were revealed last year.

But after thousands of people signed a petition against the move, opposition Conservative and Green politicians said they would kick the proposal out.

A revised report is due to be discussed next week.
