British Airways i360: British Airways i360’s commitment to the Brighton & Hove living wage

In November 2014, we proudly signed up to the Brighton & Hove Living Wage Campaign, which means we have pledged to pay all our direct employees a minimum of £8.25 per hour.logo
We will be directly employing approximately 60 full-time and around 20 part-time staff and all of our colleagues will earn at least the Living Wage. This includes young people aged under 25 who are recent school or college leavers who are typically on lower pay. We have also in-sourced many traditionally low-paid roles, such as cleaning and security who also will be paid at this rate.
We encourage all of our suppliers to join the Brighton & Hove Living Wage Campaign and several have done so. In the case of the catering and photography businesses operating at the i360, they have made the decision to pay their staff the Government’s National Living Wage hourly rate and in many cases this is topped up by tips or commission.
We are one of a handful of Brighton & Hove organisations in the hospitality or tourism sectors who have signed up to this commitment and we hope that others will follow suit.
