A Novel Idea
Fresh comedy comes in all shapes and sizes. ‘Fresh’ is new, and that’s interesting and a bit of a risk. With Edinburgh preview season well and truly upon us, as well as the mold of comedy frequently breaking free of the tried and tested format of a man and a mic there’s plenty to stretch the imagination and get stuck into.
Over at Komedia, highlights this week are two double bills. Tuesday sees the pairing of the anarchic Alfie Brown and fun-loving Damien Clark. Come back on Friday and you’ll catch the hotly tipped Pierre Novellie and accolade attention-grabbing outsider Funmbi Omotayo.
Pop over to the Caroline of Brunswick on Thursday for laid back veteran Carl Donnelly, followed by new sketch comedy from Twins.
And for truly fresh-faced acts, check out the mix of comedians just starting out and old hands with new material at Comedy Open Mic on Friday.
