Worthing man jailed for life for killing granddad Don Lock in road rage attack

Matthew-Daley_600.jpg.galleryA Worthing man has been sent to prison for manslaughter after he violently stabbed Don Lock near Worthing.

Matthew Daley, 35, stabbed 79-year-old Don Lock to death after a minor road accident on the A24 in Findon.

Today he was given a sentence of life imprisonment with a minimum tariff of ten years.

The incident took place on July 16, 2015.

The court heard Daley, who is a paranoid schizophrenic, stabbed Mr Lock 39 times. Mr Lock died at the scene from his injuries.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Rymarz, who led the investigation for Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, said: “This has been such a tragic case for everyone involved and I hope following today’s sentencing, Don Lock’s family, who have lost someone in such awful circumstances can somehow move on together from this.”

“I would like to re-iterate how incredibly dignified his family have been throughout the process and it has been a privilege for those involved in the investigation to know them.”
