Home secretary Theresa May will become UK Prime Minister after Andrea Leadsom ducked out of Tory leadership race.
The withdrawal of her only contender will mean Mrs May will occupy Number 10 from Wednesday evening.
Prime Minister David Cameron announced he will step down immediately, adding the home secretary will be “more than able to provide the strong leadership the country needs”.
