The art of interpretation

Excited to hear that Alexander Johnson will be showing a new collection at 35 North Gallery throughout September. Not only is this little artspace just a stone’s throw from Arty headquarters in the North Laine (with a plentiful choice of Rioja stops en route), but Alexander’s masterly abstract technique never fails to delight.

His work concerns how our lives are remembered in visual terms, and he believes there is no correct interpretation of his paintings, but expects each viewer to see something different that reflects their own life experiences. Intrigued? Alexander is also taking part in Lewes Artwave weekends, so there’s still time to pop into his Laughton studio (venue #21) on 27-28 August or 1-4 September and evoke a new realisation of the past.
