The Treason Show

At Ropetackle Arts Centre in Shoreham, The Treason Show’s four performers and a musician took an array of recent current affairs stories as the basis for their dark and dirty, humorously twisted, satirical sketches and songs. Key to the show’s enjoyment was an appreciation of the swiftness in which their creativity had come to bear. They had taken up-to- the-minute local, national, and international events and created slick theatrical sketches, or inventively shoehorned them into popular songs. Southern Rail and the BA i360; Theresa May, Keith Vaz and Jeremy Corbyn; Donald Trump and burkinis, were all lampooned by their penetrating attention. They also found a way to interweave the targets of their crude humour between the different sketches, adding unexpected complexity. And all this with costume changes too. They ran roughshod over political correctness in search of the laughs which the audience happily gave.
