Latest TV, I’m sure you’ll agree, has gone from strength to strength, working with the BBC and local businesses to provide dedicated local news and programming.

As the Channel Manager for the station I am delighted to announce our new Head of News, Jody Doherty-Cove. Jody is an exceptional journalist that has worked for our news team on a freelance basis for a few years now – he know’s what’s what, and how to improve it.

We wanted Jody to head up our news division based on his extremely busy and varied professional work. Not only is Jody an experienced journalist, having worked as a reporter for Latest TV and BBC South East, he is also a keen filmmaker.

After graduating from Ravensbourne University, Jody quickly gained credits in documentaries including a BBC Inside Out piece and C4’s Angry White and Proud. Jody has also produced, directed, filmed and edited in many short films, including festivals such as The Great Escape and Shakedown. Gaining hundreds of thousands of views online is a breeze for Jody with his internet documentaries regularly featuring in film festivals across the globe.

Along with the experience mentioned above, and Jody’s award winning Young Refugee Arts Collective helping young refugees gain access to the media industry here in the UK – we are really proud to have Jody on board the ever growing Latest TV team.

You can watch Latest TV News every day at 6pm with updates throughout the evening. Have a news story? You can email Jody directly: jody@thelatest.tv or follow him on Twitter: @jodyydc
