Celebcity: Radio Ga Ga

Most Saturday mornings I’m on the Breakfast show with Jimmy Willis at Trickstar Radio. Last Saturday however I was booked to do the review of the morning’s newspapers on talkRADIO in London, with the fabulous Penny Smith!

Penny is a well known presenter on our televisions and has been on GMTV, Loose Women, The Wright Stuff and Sky News. On 26 March 2016, she began presenting Saturday Breakfast on the new UK radio, talkRADIO. This was when the station was launched and talkRADIO is just that. No music just talking with interesting phone-ins. It has a whole host of great presenters including: Paul Ross, Iain Lee, George Galloway, Eamonn Holmes and Bob Mills.

Thankfully the 6.05am Thameslink from Brighton to London Blackfriers was running on time and I got to the studio by 7.30am and was immediately given coffee (which was gratefully received), then I was given a pile of newspapers to go through and had to chose which news stories I was going to discuss on air.

Just before 8.30am I was taken into the studio, then Penny and I went live. We talked about everything from Brexit to Brangalina, The Battle of Hastings to Honey G. Just after 9am I was off air and my work was done. The whole Breakfast team made me very welcome and I look forward to going back again soon. I am a total convert now and listen to talkRADIO whenever I can.
