Brighton’s Arty: Close to the bone
Apologies if I gush. But sculptor Eve Shepherd really is supremely talented. And if you don’t head to Corridor Gallery for her incredible solo exhibition ‘Blood & Bone’, you will be missing something very special.
In this mesmerising new show, Eve explores the journey of femininity, shaped and inspired by her own experiences as an artist and mother.
For the first time in her working practice, she pulls together a singular theme that captures fragility and fortitude through feminine archetypes of maiden, mother and crone – interrogating the strength of women from the primordial ancestry of our beginnings to the complex femininity of modern day. Haunting and ethereal, while remaining fleshy and visceral. Until 4 December.
