Raffles
Raffles is a billed as a mystery thriller. The real mystery is why they thought this was a good play. Most of our time is spent with two men telling us about exciting events that have already happened, which would have been far more interesting to watch. The first rule of theatre is ‘don’t tell us about it; show us’. It must have been directed by Dracula because all of the lifeblood had been drained out of the production. At some point, someone died and we found out immediately whodunit; so much for suspense. This play killed a perfectly good evening.
