Lake Street Dive
Lake Street Dive have been around for 12 years. All the way from Boston they bring us a mixture of soul, jazz, blues, pop, R’n’B, with a hint of G-love, awesome vocals and tight harmonies. Every person in this band has their own beauty. Vocalist Rachael Price leads with elegance and grace, with the voice of a queen diva. Drummer Mike Calabrese is spot on with his super cool licks and delivers vocals in a saintly manor. Double bass player Bridget Kearney plays that thang like she was born with it. Swooping around its neck, creating a fabulous rhythm. Not to forget Mike Olsen, genius guitar parts and solo trumpet. Then the four part harmonies appear. Wow, could be in a bar in New Orleans listening to these. Mainly playing songs from the new album “Side Pony”. All killers no fillers here. You could put this band in any situation and they would always emerge with flying colours. The story of this band definitely has along way to go. Great band, great venue, great night.
