Tis the season… to be an elf! Sussex based children’s charity Rockinghorse is asking supporters to dress in red and green on Friday 9 December for their annual ‘Dress Yourself as an Elf’ day.

Local schools, businesses, community groups and individuals are being encouraged to dress as elves and donate £1. The festive dress-down day will be raising money towards the charity’s 50th year appeal; Sussex Giving for Sussex Children.

Raised over £10,000 to help make life better for sick children

Best-known as the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) in Brighton, Rockinghorse recently launched its plans for their Golden Jubilee. They aim to raise £500,000 worth of funding in 2017 to be split between 10 children’s centres and paediatric services in Sussex.

Last year, hundreds of people got involved in the festivities and raised over £10,000 to help make life better for sick children in Sussex. Even the Brighton Wheel showed their support by lighting red and green to mark the occasion.
