Placebo

Placebo turned 20 this year, and they were in the mood at celebrate as they graced The Brighton Centre. The first half peaked with ‘Without You I’m Nothing’ which has been added to the setlist since David Bowie’s death. His backing vocals were omitted, but there was an emotional video backdrop of him performing with the band. For a band that has been performing for 20 years, they haven’t lost their verve. They ended the show with their cover of ‘Running up that Hill’, with Molko’s stretched out vocals wrapping around Kate Bush’s lyrics, and the electronic tones created a passionate encore.
