Vindaloo Stories – James Burt

The scene was set by travel guides, a dish-cloth depicting Ganesh and just a hint of sitar music, but no trace of patchouli or sandalwood. I didn’t know what to expect, although the website is clear enough.

I needn’t have worried. James Burt’s informal yet informed romp through our Imperial cuisine was well up to the very high standard of entertainment native to the Marlborough. His relaxed, confident and amusing talk covered all the usual points and was spiced with some delightful bits of trivia. Of course, he couldn’t actually give us a definitive recipe.
