Barnstormers Comedy Night
The first Barnstormers of the year started off with a somewhat adversarial tone, set by compere Kevin Precious between him and the time-management challenged audience. However hard case Jeff Innocent (who in his own words dresses in ‘retired, cockney, criminal leisure-wear’) dealt easily with any potential insurrectionists. He was followed by Debra-Jane Appleby, a female version of Johnny Vegas, only less histrionic, whose quirky and, let’s face it, dirty jokes eased us into a relaxed liminal state. Last but not least, Pierre Hollins a hugely likeable cheeky chappie and unlikely rock-god who whipped the crowd into a state of near euphoria.
