Man hospitalised after late night bottle assault

A man was attacked with a bottle late last night in Castle Square, Brighton.

He was assaulted with a bottle in the early hours of the morning and was hospitalised after receiving cuts to his lower back.

The 36-year-old Brighton resident was hit around 12.45am on Saturday 14 January.

A 22-year old man, also from Brighton was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, and after being interviewed was released on police bail until 9 March while enquiries continue.

Detective Sergeant Cheryl Lewendon said: “If you saw what happened please contact us.”
