Pro-Trump petition passes 100,000 signature threshold

A petition supporting a state visit from Donald Trump has just passed 100,000 signatures.

The petition, titled “Donald Trump should make a State Visit to the United Kingdom” now has to be considered for debate by Parliament.

At the time of writing, the petition has only received support from 382 Brighton residents, compared to 21,764 who have signed the opposite petition, calling for the President to be prevented from making a visit in light of his “misogyny and vulgarity”.

Created by Alan Augustus Brown, the pro-Trump petition states: “Donald Trump should be invited to make an official State Visit because he is the leader of a free world and U.K. is a country that supports free speech and does not believe that people that appose our point of view should be gagged.”

The anti-Trump petition, created by Graham Guest, states: “Donald Trump should be allowed to enter the UK in his capacity as head of the US Government, but he should not be invited to make an official State Visit because it would cause embarrassment to Her Majesty the Queen.

“Donald Trump’s well documented misogyny and vulgarity disqualifies him from being received by Her Majesty the Queen or the Prince of Wales.

“Therefore during the term of his presidency Donald Trump should not be invited to the United Kingdom for an official State Visit.”

The “for” petition is arguing for something that is already going to happen, it’s redundant. Nobody is being “gagged” since Trump will already visit the UK in the capacity of leader, that’s not in dispute. The “against” petition is to prevent a *state visit* where he will meet the Queen. Are all you Trumpists really this stupid?
