How will leaving the customs union affect local exporters?
MP’s are to have a final vote tomorrow on the Article 50 Bill which will give the Prime Minister authority to trigger Article 50, starting Britain’s two-year exit from the EU.
The government has published a white paper, detailing some of the arrangements they would like to see post-brexit. These involve complete withdrawal from the single market and the redrawing of the customs union with Europe, both of which will greatly affect how the UK trades with it’s neighbours.
Although Brighton voted 68.6% to remain, the city will not be immune from the effects of Brexit.
Michael Goodier spoke to one of the city’s fasted growing exporters about how leaving the custom’s union will affect them.
