Latest TV: Help us to change the world – Sophie Cook
The world is changing, and not always for the better, throughout the world there is an ever-increasing wave of bigotry and prejudice and barely a week goes by without some kind of misleading, negative story about LGBT people.
Continuing the journey that began two years ago with the creation of Latest TV, and diversified with my appointment to the news team in June 2016, becoming Europe’s first transgender newscaster, we are now ready to bring you Latest LGBT+.
We’re different to a lot of the LGBT coverage that you’ll see on other broadcasters, being members of the community our programming will never be voyeuristic, exploitative or sensationalist.
The commercial TV stations are supported by major advertising revenues and the BBC receives government funding in the form of the TV license fee.

We receive NO ongoing government funding at all.
This is where you come in. We’re asking if you would join us in being part of one of the most exciting developments in British television for decades by supporting our work with a donation to our crowdfunding campaign.
Together we can be the change that we want to see in the world. Pride not prejudice.
