Merely – Twelfth Night
Tamara Astor’s rumbunctious Feste is a delight in this witty, playful and entertaining take on Shakespeare’s twinfest Twelth Night. Her multi-voiced performance was energised and vital, bristling with comedic talent and swagger, and served as a timely reminder that not all is equal on the stage. Where Romeo and Juliet showed a company struggling to adapt its baser instincts to the demands of tragedy, and wrestling with a text showed both too little and too much respect, in this production their urge for mischief sparkled in every scene, and the audience responded in the only way they could: in kind.
