More commuter chaos as ASLEF announce fresh strike action

Following news earlier this week that Southern Rail have been hit with a 13 million pound fine, ASLEF have announced fresh strike days.

Walkouts will take place on the 1st, 2nd and 4th of August, causing further rail disruption for weary commuters.

Govia Thameslink Railway, who own Southern, have said that The fine money will be invested in improvements to services – including 4 million pounds to fund 50 on-board supervisors over the next two years.

Southern drivers are already working to rule by refusing overtime in a separate dispute with GTR over the introduction of driver only operation on some routes, the same issue that has caused chaos for commuters since 2015.
