Early music was often academically dry or embarrassingly gimmicky, sometimes both. This well selected programme, carefully and wittily introduced by Andrew Robinson and well performed by the enthusiastic choir, brings a new audience in easy steps to an understanding and appreciation of early music. BREMF Community Choir’s following of fans, friends and families is fast growing in number. Half the ticket price went to the ‘free’ glass of wine they all enjoyed at the party afterwards where the infectious enthusiasm spread even further. What better way to prepare for the fine treats of the main Early Music Festival in October?
