Out of the mouths of… Latest 7’s annual Kids Reviews are back
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this is my favourite feature of the entire year. It fills my heart with joy and hope when, having sent out a group of youngsters, I get to read their reviews of some of the city’s best places to dine.
It strikes me as encouraging that in an age when busy parents so often rely on the convenience of refrigerator grazing, not always their fault I concede, these youngsters are excited to be eating out. It also cheers me that they are adventurous, they like spice, they embrace the unusual and of course, a few will be thrilling at the opportunity to eat delicious ice-cream and tradition chips as sausage, they after all have their place in our incredible culinary heritage.
Where else in the world do you find such all encompassing culinary opportunities. Our empire building past had many faults but bringing back to the UK so many global food influences is one of the benefits, in the same way that the peoples of the world from our imperial past add to the rich society that we are privileged to live in.
Anyway, enough politics, let’s get on and hear what the kids have to report, as I say… “Out of the mouths of…”.
