Pinocchio: Panto Returns to Iconic Sussex Venue
The Amazing Adventures of Pinocchio: Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts
James Weisz and Patric Kearns will be bringing their panto to the site of the Gardner Arts Centre, Brighton, now Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts, this Christmas.
‘Pinocchio’ will mark the first time since the Gardner Arts Centre closed that a Christmas pantomime has been held on
the site.
Between 1987 and 2005, Mike Carter and MCN Productions were responsible for producing the Christmas show each year at the Gardner Arts Centre, seen by thousands of local people.
James Weisz comments: “The new team and facilities are top-notch. These productions are for everyone in the Brighton & Hove area, so we’re very much hoping we’ll get plenty of local support”.
A marvellous mixture of comedy, magical story-telling, toe-tapping numbers and circus
Pinocchio is James’ fifth pantomime in Brighton, since launching in 2013 with Cinderella. A marvellous mixture of comedy, magical story-telling, toe-tapping numbers and circus, the show promises to delight all ages.
Details about the show:
Brighton’s only professional pantomime returns with a high-flying adaptation of the much-loved fairy tale.
One night Geppetto, a puppet-maker, wishes upon a star and life changes forever. His most beloved creation, Pinocchio, springs to life and with that, the amazing adventures begin.
From the director of The Wind in The Willows; Beauty & The Beast; The Jungle Book; and George’s Marvellous Medicine.
Directed by James Weisz / Written by Patric Kearns
