Phil Wang: Kinabalu

Phil Wang enraptured the audience with his quirky “Wang Man Style” witticisms and numerous self introductions. Being a self deprecating British Malaysian he’s found a niche, whereby he can cheekily reduce the Chinese language to “Ching, Chang, Chong” and get away with an uncomfortable level of patriotism. Wang’s a quick-thinking, pun-a-minute Cambridge graduate, with more than just race jokes up his sleeve. Part of Wang’s appeal is his intellectualism. His memorable nerdy laugh, third person character development and quick delivery of x-rated lube jokes made this hilarious comedian all the more funny.
