Average White Band
There was nothing average about the Average White Band. Arguably regarded as one of the best soul, R&B and funk bands ever, the six piece band celebrated 40 years of their breakout album “AWB” performing classic tracks such as ‘Cut the cake’ and ‘Pick up the pieces’ as well as showcasing tracks from their timeless back catalogue and their latest CD. Every musician delivered a flawless performance. With the lighting club like the bass pounding and each note crystal clear, everyone just had to ‘get down’ with the band. It was great to see both young and old(er) in the crowd. AWB’s music over the decades has been covered and sampled by hundreds of artists keeping the band’s legendary music alive and appreciated across different genres and generations alike. ‘Let’s go round again’…please.
