Brighton’s rough sleepers have a new hope for warmth

The Brighton Centre will open its doors to the city’s rough sleepers this winter, and it has proven to be a controversial decision.

A large room in the council-owned building is currently being prepared to be used a shelter for up to 30 people.

It’s currently due to open on 10 December, but officers hope it can be used sooner.

While many view the plan as beneficial to the city and its homeless population, there are those who are opposed to the council’s co-party decision.
