A night of festive drag realness with Christmas Queens comes to the Brighton Centre. One of its stars Ginger Minj takes time out from recording her second album to speak exclusively with Victoria Nangle about the show, and its root – RuPaul’s Drag Race.

How are you today?
I’m a little frazzled, but I’m great! There’s so much going on right now that it takes all my energy to stay focused on what comes next, but it’s always so rewarding and so much fun! I wouldn’t have it any other way.

What can we expect from the Christmas Queens show?
I honestly think this is the best tour we have ever put together. The costumes, the music, the choreography, the dancers, the energy … it’s just so much fun and has so much heart!

What is your favourite part of the show?
I love the opening! It’s unique just to the tour and really sets the tone in a fun way! Not to mention that burst of energy from the audience the first time they see you is so infectious!

Apart from your own dazzling performance, who else in the show do you love to watch and why?
All the girls are so good, but I love watching Thorgy play the violin … it’s something I’ve never been able to do and to see her play so passionately always leaves my jaw on
the floor.

Phi Phi is gassy and Jiggly’s favorite movies are sequels

Who was your favourite guest or judge in RuPaul’s Drag Race?
John Waters! I mean, come on! One of my lifelong idols not only acknowledged my existence but praised my talents … it was a beautiful day that I will never forget!

Any juicy gossip or PG-13 anecdotes you could share?
Phi Phi is gassy and Jiggly’s favorite movies are sequels.

And what was your favourite look you put together during your run on the show?
My favourite look would probably be my leather and lace runway from Season 7. I felt sexy!

What have you heard about Brighton?
That it’s fabulous and I need to check out the pier!

Are you looking forward to mixing with the Brighton drag and trans communities?
Absolutely! Drag is such a regional sport, it’s always fun to see how other folks do it and pick up a couple tips here and there.

What do you want for Christmas this year?
A nap.
