Dick Whittington and his cat
Todd Carty as an exceptionally flatulent King Rat and Martyn Knight playing the bawdy Dame lead a disgracefully funny cast through all the thrills and spills of this uproarious show. Egged on by a boisterous horde of Cubs and Brownies from all over the area, the whole very talented crew whip up a torrent of excitement and giggles. I’ve never seen stage smoke used so much or so well, especially in the storm sequence and the following kitchen slap-stick, with frothy pies and all, was hilariously engineered. Add a wonderfully agile cat (Felicity Morris) and you’ve got a top-rate panto.
