Fagin’s Twist
Fagin’s Twist took a familiar story and re-contextualised it, serving up an enthralling and spellbinding show that captivated the younger audience members and reminded others of its political relevance in a time of food banks and austerity.
Tony Adigun’s choreography moved his ensemble like magicians, almost defying gravity and combining grace with a toughness as street dance moved easily with high contemporary movement. Joshua James Smith and Dani Harris-Waters as Fagin and Bill were friendship, betrayal and a heart at the core of all that they battled, with Jemima Brown’s sharp-edged Oliver the unforgiving calataylst in their tragedy of a downfall.
A stunning performance you just want to see all over again.
