Beowulf

Seth Kriebel invited us to partake in an interactive video-like theatre game for his show Beowulf. The audience got to decide what Beowulf should do. Whether he should enter the forest, stay on the road and even his fighting style. Seth Kriebel effortlessly switched between being Beowulf and a storyteller, while imparting knowledge about this epic and ancient Germanic Poem. The result was a thoroughly imaginative and compelling piece of immersive theatre. The twists, turns and humour of Seth’s well executed show really brought Beowolf to life. But for all the choices made and fun had on the way, Seth Kriebel’s Beowulf is ultimately a performance about the certainty of mortality.
