Brighton wins its first Victoria Cross
A Brighton War hero became the first person from the city, to be awarded the Victoria Cross last week.
Brightonians gathered at the memorial from 11am on Friday the 16th of March to celebrate this achievement.
The Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex, Peter Field, accompanied by the Yorkshire Regiment and Princess of Wales Royal Regiment Guard of Honour and members of the Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas were all there to mark the day.
