Dines Out: Brighton Cocktail Week

Building on the success of last year and the definite prominence of the city as a hot spot for cocktails, the internationally acclaimed Brighton and Hove Food & Drink Festival, working with Mixology Group, has recently staged their second celebration of all things cocktail.

A city wide offer of brilliant new drinks and classics

With over 50 bars and restaurants taking part, food and mixed drink related special events and a city wide offer of brilliant new drinks and classics mainly at the bargain price of only £5, what was not to love?

At La Choza there was a competition to find the best fusion of food and cocktails with five top mixologists teamed with five equally impressive chefs, and at Drakes the team worked with Arbike spirits to create a wonderful drop in event on the seafront.

In the midst off all this, Merkaba played host to another world record event where Francois Monin, barman at Lucky Voice beat the existing record by opening 107 and seven crown capped beer bottles in just one minute, 11 more than the existing record and securing him his second entry in the Guinness Book Of Records. At the same time the beers, kindly sponsored by Lazy Lizard, were sold of for charity raising a decent sum for the Rockinghorse Appeal.

Whilst championing all things booze and fun the festival is also keen to remind participants to drink responsibly – but always to have fun!
