He Ain’t Heavy

He Ain’t Heavy, 23 October, Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne

He Ain’t Heavy is an extraordinary piece of theatre; I have never seen anything quite like it before.

Performer Grania Pickard tells the story of growing up with her disabled autistic brother Sean through circus skills, audience participation and wonderful storytelling.

With help from fellow performer, Sophie Postlethwaite, we learn through actual events how his unique take on life has shaped and influenced Grania’s own life.

He Ain’t Heavy is entertaining and personal. It also encourages conversation about autism and special needs. Job done.
