In a split second, life can be turned upside down and everything we have built is gone for good. This is the powerful message being portrayed in Steve Call’s Tears in the Dust.

Trevor, is a successful salesman whose destructive boss causes him to lose his job, wife and dignity – his life spirals out of control until he finds himself homeless

The gritty drama starring Yorkshire actor, Dean Sills, follows lead character Trevor Wallis (Sills) as his life suddenly collapses and he finds himself sleeping rough on the streets.

Trevor, is a successful salesman for a software company whose destructive boss causes him to lose his job, wife and dignity, he then turns to drink to numb his losses and his life spirals out of control until he finds himself homeless.

Tears in the Dust

Written and directed by Steve Call, the drama highlights the horror of homelessness in today’s society and how it can happen to anyone. Tears in the Dust has had much interest including both Steve and Dean being featured on TV on the local ITN news in Yorkshire and on BBC Radio Sheffield when both of them talked about the horror of life on the street. The drama was released on DVD last year and now the gritty northern drama comes to the TV screens of Brighton on Freeview and Virgin Media and the rest of the UK can watch the drama online at thelatest.co.uk Steve and Dean are both excited to see their work getting commissioned on Latest TV. The channel has a TV programme on it called Homeless By The Sea, where the director Eva Wilshere allows Brighton’s rough sleepers to tell their stories.

Tears in the Dust will be shown in 5 parts and features a cameo from Billy Pearce. The drama will help people understand how this can happen to anyone. Tears in the Dust Thursdays at 7.30pm with a repeat at 1:30am.
