A Wizard of a Show Panto Returns for its 7th Year at the Attenborough Centre
With Christmas only round the corner, theatres and companies are gearing up to present some first class shows. Back for the seventh year, Brighton Panto producer James Weisz returns to the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts with a show full of community spirit and joy.
Since 2013, James Weisz has been producing a pantomime in the area, bringing it back after Theatre Royal stopped in 2011. A trademark winning combination of a small professional cast with a young ensemble of dancers, each Christmas panto has been well received, and The Wizard of Oz will be no different.
Starring Charlotte Melissa Tyler as Glinda, Pip Henderson as Lion, DanielleJohnson as The Wicked Witch of The West,Carly Day as Dorothy, Hugo Catton as TinMan and Josh Beaney-Ford as Scarecrow.
The Wizard of Oz is a classic tale made famous by the MGM movie starring Judy Garland. This production features all the recognisable characters of the original. Dorothy gets transported to the wonderful world of Oz, where she learns that the only way to get back home is to visit the great and powerful Wizard. On her journey to the Emerald City, she meets a Scarecrow who is in need of a brain, a Tin Man who is in need of a heart and a Lion who definitely needs some courage.
Director, James says ‘We can’t wait to bring our seventh panto to Brighton, my wonderful hometown. The cast, creatives and the fabulous dancers are all ready to bring a spectacular show! We hope you can join us!
The Wizard of Oz begins December 13th and runs until 31st, with two or three performances a day, there will be plenty of chances to see it!
