Disability Pride is on TV and online today!
England’s first ever Disability Pride event is back for its fourth year – with a difference!
Disability Pride, the festival celebrating disability diversity and shining a light on the issues facing people with disabilities, was founded by Jenny Skelton. The chair of the festival, Jenny has championed performers with disabilities, and this year, the fourth year of the festival, we’re proud to share the event on TV and online
Jenny says: “It might not be the Disability Pride festival we expected but, just because we can’t get together in person, we can still celebrate our wonderful event. Please join us and help to promote Disability Pride Brighton 2020 Online Festival.”
“Sadly, we won’t be able to have any live performers or information stalls this year but there will still be loads of enjoyment. There will be many videos of performers and acts, as well as speakers such as Alison Lapper MBE; Brighton & Hove Mayor, Cllr Alan Robins; Caroline Lucas MP; Adam Pearson and Samantha Renke.”
“As Disability Pride is a celebration of disabled people, all our performers are disabled or at least one member of their band is disabled. Some of the acts featured will be Daniel Wakeford, Ren, Sam Hughes Elton John Tribute, The AutistiX, Lioness, The Speak, HAVVA, Cracklin’ Griffins and many more”
Disability Pride will be shown twice today on Latest TV on Freeview Channel 7 from 12 noon to 2.30pm and from 2.30pm to 5.30pm. It can also be seen on Virgin Media Channel 159 as well as on our Latest TV Livestream
