BRIGHTON EARLY MUSIC FESTIVAL (BREMF) 2021

I was beginning to worry that I had lost the habit of going to concerts. Last autumn’s virtual festival gave some happy respite and a few small events happened over Christmas but it is the announcement this Spring of the Culture Recovery Fund grant that is reviving my spirits.

In recent years Arts funding has all but dried up, so the allocation of £50,346 to BREMF 2021 will go a long way to getting some live early music on stage, outdoors at the Royal Spa Nursery School in Queen’s Park, and on the virtual platform that has been so rewarding during the lockdowns.

I’m looking forward to the seven promised programmes of music, dance and storytelling on BREMF 2021’s theme of Myths and Legends. The rush for tickets will begin in early May.
