The Tiger’s Pen

Latest TV went to the University of Sussex to find out about their new Start-Up Investment Scheme, Tiger’s Pen. Taking inspiration from the renowned programme, Dragon’s Den, students were given the opportunity to pitch business ideas to a panel of local business men and women for the chance to pitch their ideas for actual investment at the Sussex Business Show.

Students will be pitching to Sam Thomas, Flo Powell, Nick Poyner, Steve Rackley, Paul Britton and Sonny Cutting.

Sonny Cutting, Founder of the Sussex Business Show, says shows like this are extremely important for start-ups to help them scale up past the initial stage of business, due to 9/10 of them failing to make it past the first hurdle. The idea came about because he wants to give students the best opportunity to grow.
