ENJOY A TASTE OF NEW CULINARY TALENT AT BITE RISING STARS

Have you got to that age when you spout lines referring to how young police officers look? I know I have. The same applies in restaurants and in part that may be due to the fact that chefs are far more upfront and out front too.  The restaurant scene in Brighton and Hove has long been dominated by local independent businesses and staffed by many young chefs who have risen to stardom

Now the county’s premiere food and drink Festival BITE is continuing the good work already done and is fully behind promoting and developing the talents of the younger members of kitchen teams, and the BITE Sussex Rising Stars lunch is a celebration of those talented young chefs working in our county.

For this never-to-be-repeated event, five young chefs aged 26 and under will each present a course, showcasing their individual culinary styles with an eye on local and seasonal produce. The event will be held at the much acclaimed Etch, home to Masterchef The Profesionals winner Steven Edwards.

The lunch will start with a welcome drink from Julien Barnett from Gungho! using Slake Spirits from Worthing and bread and snacks will be arranged by Etch. The starter/soup course will be prepared by Arion Christophers from Fourth & Church in Hove and the fish course will be cooked by Antonio Pio Iassogna from the Hilton Brighton Metropole.

An egg course will be made by Elisa Gerard from top patisserie Julien Plumart, the meat course by Dan O’Malley at Etch and finally a dessert from Caspian Armani at the award winning Isaac At.

This is a fine opportunity to enjoy the stylish experience of Etch and sample the cooking of the city’s rising stars.
