Barb, Attila & Henry

Latest’s Andrew Kay has been a huge fan of Barb Jungr for 30 years now. Barb plays gigs across the UK but we think one of the best places to see her is at Crazy Coqs Cabaret at the Brasserie Zedel in London’s West End. Her September date is no doubt sold out but book now, as the space is stylishly intimate, for her date on the 14th of October when she is singing Bob Dylan. As a real treat why not book her Christmas show Two Turtle Doves, a show with Dillie Keane of Fascinating Aida, at the Ropetackle Arts Centre in Shoreham on the 19th of December or again at Crazy Coqs on the 23rd of December.

AK saw this show last Christmas and says it is a truly wonderful and unmissable seasonal delight.

Staying in Shoreham now for Shoreham Wordfest and Attila The Stockbroker with Henry Normal who have known each other since the ‘ranting poetry’ scene of the 1980s. Henry toured with Pulp and went on to be a hugely successful TV comedy writer (Mrs Merton, The Royle Family) but now concentrates on his first love – poetry. Southwick’s Attila the Stockbroker is celebrating 40 years as a poet and musician. His Collected Works was published last year and he has released a dub poetry album,40 Years In Rhyme’ some of which he’ll be performing as part of his anniversary tour.

You can catch Attila and Henry at the Ropetackle on Wednesday the 5th of October. Tickets available here.
