Roger Bamber RIP

The photographer Roger Bamber, a much respected photojournalist, has sadly passed away, aged 78. Roger had an incredible and long career starting in 1965 at the Daily Mail, his work was used in most British newspapers and magazines throughout his career. In 1988, he left the other newspapers behind and became part of the Guardian’s award-winning photography team and worked with them for the rest of his career.

He was awarded an honorary master of arts degree from the University of Brighton for his contribution to photojournalism and a wealth of images of Brighton inspired by the city itself.

Fellow acclaimed photographer JJ Waller, came into the studio to talk with Latest’s Yael Breuer about Roger, his work and influence on the important artistic scene in Brighton.
