The Coast is Queer with a Queer Peer

New Writing South & Marlborough Productions present: The Coast is Queer, Brighton & Hove’s festival of LGBTQ+ literature, which is returning this weekend for an in-person festival 7-9 October 2022.

Now in its third year, The Coast is Queer brings together writers, performers, academics, activists and of course readers, for three days of lively in-conversation events, workshops, films and discussions celebrating queer lives and writing.

Speakers for 2022 include Travis Alabanza, Julia Armfield, Michael Cashman, Juno Dawson, Leone Ross, Sara Winman and Huw Lemmey and Ben Miller, authors of ‘Bad Gays: A Homosexual History’.

Lord Michael Cashman is a founding member of Stonewall, the LGBTQ+ lobbying organisation but is equally know for that very first gay kiss on a British soap. A tireless campaigner for LGBTQ+ rights will be speaking at The Coast is Queer at the Attenborough Centre for Creative Arts.

Chris Gull now lives in Valencia but continues in his role as chair of the Rainbow Fund and what the future holds for the city’s LGBTQ+ fund raising body. He updates us one where the fund stands now and what plans are in place for the future.
