Madeira Terrace Restoration Planning Application has been Published!

10 years after the closure of Madeira Terrace, there has finally been some small progress in the project. The planning application for the first phase of restoration has been published, outlining the initial plans for when work on the project hopefully begins in Autumn 2023.

The first phase of work to restore the Grade 2* listed structure will see the transformation of 40 arches – about a quarter of the whole terrace – between the Royal Crescent steps and Madeira Terrace Shelter Hall, the Concorde 2 venue.

Brighton and Hove City Council planning committee are meeting on 2nd November to discuss the plans and welcome any comments the public have on the published report.
