‘Walking in the Air’ Music Video Filmed on Pod Roof 450ft Above Brighton to Celebrate 40 Years of ‘The Snowman’™
Violinist, Tik Tok Star and the new face of Classical music, Esther Abrami, releases breath-taking new video for ‘Walking in the air’ filmed 450ft in the air on the Brighton i360 roof, inspired by the Snowman’s original setting.
Acclaimed violinist, TikTok sensation and the most exciting rising star in classical music, Esther Abrami, today releases a jaw-dropping new video for her beautifully glistening adaptation of ‘Walking In The Air’ from ‘The Snowman’™. The video celebrates the iconic Christmas classic’s 40th anniversary, with the track personally arranged for Esther by the film’s original composer Howard Blake OBE.
In a fitting tribute to the nostalgic festive family film, Esther recorded the extraordinary video 450 feet above Brighton on top of the Brighton i360, making her the first ever solo instrumentalist and the very first classical artist to perform on top of the pod. Taller than the London Eye, the video offers 360-degree views of Brighton, the English Channel, and the rolling South Downs National Park.
Of her new music video, Esther says: “Watching The Snowman is one of the most nostalgic and special Christmas traditions for so many families and I’m so honoured to have been given the chance to share this special version of the iconic track. It was one of the most fun and exhilarating performances of my life – attached by a rope on top of the glass i360 pod and with my violin and bow tied to my wrist is something that I will never forget!”
Esther is the first person to film at night on top of Brighton i360. With the twinkling lights of Brighton glowing in the night sky and vast sea around her, the video gives the impression that Esther truly is Walking In The Air. The public are now able to walk on top of the i360 themselves just as Esther did, with the release of the ‘Walk 360’ experience in June 2022.
The public will get the chance to meet The iconic Snowman when he visits Brighton i360 in conjunction with children’s hospice, Chestnut Tree House, on Tuesday 20th December. The snowman will appear on the 11am, 12pm and 1pm time slots. Tickets are the standard price, and donations for Chestnut Tree House are welcome on the day. Tickets can be purchased at: www.brightoni360.co.uk
Esther’s music video coincides with 40 years of THE SNOWMAN™ and 10 years of THE SNOWMAN™ AND THE SNOWDOG film adaptations, based on the picture book by the late author and illustrator Raymond Briggs. This winter, Penguin Random House Children’s is celebrating the anniversaries with a limited theatrical release of both films, available in more than 70 ODEON cinemas nationwide for 6 weeks from 25 November 2022. Esther debuted the track with a spectacular live performance at the film re-premiere at Odeon, Leicester Square, London and performed the song at this year’s Scala Christmas Concert at The London Palladium on November 27.
Filmed by 24/7 Productions, edited by 4th Floor Creative, and in association with ARTISTS&,On Walking In The Air, Esther is joined on piano by concert pianist Anne-Gabrièle Douce.
