Drubbing of the Arsenal by Brighton & Hove Albion 14 May at The Emirates
The Seagulls still heading for Europe!
Twenty minutes gone and for two supposedly brilliant pure footballing teams it’s been more like a full blooded old fashioned cup tie. Odegaard and Saka looking likeliest to do something special, likewise Ferguson and Enciso…and Martinelli substituted by Trossard after Caicedo’s full blooded plus tackle! 35 gone and Enciso should score after Mitoma skins Ben White on outside… oh and Trossard nearly put Arsenal ahead. It’s all Brighton players and ex Brighton players making the news! Like a Lancing 2021 training session! So, half time now and the last 10 was quite end to end but Brighton play out is high risk and Arsenal more careful so it’s going to need that unstoppable spark of genius to sort this one..my guess that will be VAR then!
Well I was half right / half wrong, it wasn’t VAR that made the difference, but it was the genius of Enciso in right place at right time, assisted by Estupinan and then Undav assisted by Trossard ( yes really! ) and then more stupendous Estupinan. And if the luck was all against us at The Amex Everton game it was all with Brighton and obviously Manchester City too who could win the Premier League on Sunday and then field their third team to face us! Lucky indeed! So we could indeed be heading for Rome or Monaco later this year but De Zerbi confirmed in post match Sky interview that when we hit Europe we’ll be without our much coveted midfielders as Caicedo and Mac Allister are likely to be sold but De Zerbi hopes to hang on to Mitoma and Estupinan and bring in a few so here’s how we might line up in Rome!
4/3/3 formation
Steele, Veltman/ Milner Dunk Webster Estupinan Gross Gilmour/ Dahoud Caicedo Mitoma Ferguson/Enciso/Joao Pedro/ Welbeck March
Yep we need to keep Caicedo! 75k for Mac should be enough this summer!
