THE EXORCIST – 50 YEARS ON

The Exorcist. Did it scare you? What comes to mind when this head turning, iconic 1973 film is mentioned? Even if you haven’t seen it you’ve probably at least heard of it, perhaps seen an infamous moment or two. A possibly cursed production and the first horror film to be nominated for best picture at the academy awards, audiences were left shocked by this story of demonic possession, some reportedly to the point of fainting or having heart attacks. As the Exorcist turns fifty years old this December, it’s a good time to look at what impact it has had on people both then and now, how it has held up in quality and terror over the years.
