FilmPride Returns: Queer Stories on Screen, Together

This February, FilmPride returns to Brighton with a vibrant programme of LGBTQ+ cinema celebrating queer lives in all their complexity, creativity, and resilience. Volunteer-run and proudly independent, the festival brings together short films and feature-length screenings from filmmakers across the UK and around the world, as part of LGBTQ+ History Month.

Spanning documentary, fiction, animation and experimental work, FilmPride’s 2026 programme explores love and loss, family and chosen kinship, gender and identity, community and resistance — alongside moments of joy, humour, and even a touch of queer horror. With themed screenings designed to be experienced collectively, the festival places films in conversation with one another and with their audiences.

All screenings are fully captioned, the venue is wheelchair accessible, and filmmakers are invited to join post-screening discussions wherever possible. More than just a place to watch films, FilmPride is a space to connect, reflect, and celebrate queer storytelling on the big screen — together.

FilmPride runs from Friday 6th to Saturday 14th February at St George’s Church, St George’s Rd, Kemptown, BN2 1ED..
