Brighton Science Festival – Monkey Butlers and Voices of the Dead

Hosts Sarah Angliss (Spacedog) and Professor Elemental, and guest Jane Bom-Bane, let musical entertainment take the lead over education at tonight’s bizarre show. Fascinating true science was provided by Angliss’ original Edison Phonograph, with which she made wax cylinder recordings of the audience for posterity. A touching Tommy Cooper tribute song was performed by Angliss on theremin, with sister Jenny on vocals, as a ventriloquist’s dummy spoke with the voice of Derren Brown. Professor Elemental unveiled his curious hybrid animal creation, the badgermingo, before conducting a hip hop investigation into Britishness with the willing crowd. An informative evening of daftness.
